Summer School

Everyone is welcome! Students not enrolled in Saint Maur during the regular school year are also welcome to apply, provided they are fluent in English and can follow the curriculum. Preschool children should have some grasp/understanding of English. Summer School Program acceptance conditions and requirements are not the same as those for the regular academic year, however, Pre-school children must be toilet trained.

Students in Grade 2 – 12 are eligible to choose two weeks or three weeks periods as well as courses to their liking and may decide on 1, 2 or 3 courses during the day. The choice of courses is for the duration of the two weeks or three weeks periods and cannot be changed by week.

Non-consecutive courses: In the case that your child is registering for 2 or 3 courses instead of 4, please ensure that the courses occur consecutively (without blank periods between them) as supervision is not provided for children not attending classes. (Exception: HS students are allowed to study in the Cougar Café if they have a gap between periods.  Personal devices may not be used during this time.)

Parents have a duty to check that their child(ren) are dressed in alignment with the Dress Code Guidelines.

T-Shirts, Shirts & Sweatshirts:

• should be neat and clean;
• the midriff and shoulders should never show
• shouldn’t be offensive

Shoes:

• should be safe and appropriate for the nature of the day;
• no flip-flops

Caps, Hats & Hairbands:

• caps and hats may not be worn indoors during regular school hours
• hairbands may be worn by girls only
• headbands may not be worn
• shouldn’t be offensive

 Jeans & Long Pants, Skirts, Split Skirts, Shorts, Skorts:

• should be neat and clean
• not worn below waistline
• no slits
• midriff must not show
• should be at least mid-thigh in length when sitting

Blouses & Tops:

• should not be see-through or sheer;
• appropriate to the educational environment, ensuring that the midriff and shoulders do not show and that there are no extended open sides exposing skin or undergarments

If a student is found in violation of the Dress Code, the parents will be called to bring appropriate clothing to school OR the student will be asked to go home to change into clothing that is in alignment with the Dress Code.

• For students participating in four courses per day of the Summer School program, lunch is included.
• Saint Maur students should use their existing ID card or registered fingerprint when purchasing their lunch. 
• Non-Saint Maur students Grade 1 –12 using the lunch service may either register their fingerprint or purchase a Cezars Kitchen card (1,000 yen) at the cashier.
• Preschool students will have the Cezar Kitchen lunches delivered to their classrooms.
• Non–Saint Maur students and external teachers may also purchase a Cezars Kitchen card for 1,000 yen at the cashier on their first day of school or purchase with cash. 
• Students not using the Cezars Kitchen service are to bring their own lunch with them each day. Detailed information of the menu can be found on the Cezars Kitchen website.

Please register your child for the grade level which is one year above the present grade level your child is in at school now. For example, if your child will complete Grade 2 in June 2026, then for Summer School 2026 your child qualifies for the Grade 3 courses.

The expectation is that those signing up for the Summer School are able to make the commitment for a minimum of two consecutive weeks of the program. If for any reason a student is unable to attend every day within two weeks, there is no pro-rating of fees, but we will accept your child for the first or second two-week period.

While on campus, all students with personal devices need to store them in their bags (on silent mode) and not use them unless it is a course requirement or a teacher provides approval.

Our school nurse is on campus throughout the three weeks of the Summer School Program.

Saint Maur reserves the right to use photographs taken of Summer School activities showing student involvement, for school news and promotional purposes, the School’s website/social media, and future advertising or articles regarding the Saint Maur Summer School Program, etc. 

The Extended Day Child Care Program offers on-site supervision of children from pre-school age to Grade 3 in the Montessori Building between 3:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m.

Until picked up by parents, children are supervised while they play, eat snacks, rest, read or continue with their Summer School projects; academic support, however, is not a part of the Summer School Program or the Extended Day Child Care Program. Pre-school children are picked up from their classrooms at 3:00 p.m.; children in Grades 1 to 3 may report to Extended Day Child Care directly at 3:00 p.m. Please have your child bring a snack if possible. You can choose to book Extended Day Child Care for a two or three week period or pick an individual day.

The fees are specific to the Summer School Program and based on the regular Extended Day Child Care Program, except for the half-year commitment option. If you have registered for the regular Extended Day Child Care, it does not extend to the Summer School and a specific reservation is needed for the Extended Day Child Care for the Summer School period, as well as the payment of the appropriate Summer School Extended Day Child Care fees, invoiced following your reservation.

• Plan E (up to 3 days per week, two week commitment, 20,000 yen for two weeks)
• Plan F (up to 5 days per week, two week commitment, 30,000 yen for two weeks)
• Plan G (up to 3 days per week, three week commitment, 30,000 yen for three weeks)
• Plan H (up to 5 days per week, two week commitment, 40,000 yen for three weeks)

Daily reservation is possible as drop off booking. Please use the regular registration form.
