Classes of ’72, ’74, and ’86 Reunite at Saint Maur and Beyond to Celebrate Lifelong Friendships

This fall, Saint Maur International School welcomed back alumni from the Classes of ’72, ’74, and ’86 to celebrate decades of lasting friendships, cherished memories, and shared traditions. These gatherings were filled with heartfelt stories, campus tours, and moments that reconnected former students with their alma mater.

This October marked a remarkable 50th anniversary for the Class of 1974. Our alumni gathered in Hakone, a renowned hot spring town near Yokohama, to commemorate this milestone and their lifelong bonds. We’re thrilled to hear they enjoyed their reunion and hope to welcome them back on campus soon. You can read a full report of their trip here.

In early November, we hosted alumni from the Class of ’86, who, along with friends, revisited campus on Friday, November 9th. The group enjoyed looking through their original yearbooks, recognizing familiar classrooms, and sharing stories of their school days in our main building, which holds so much history for them.

On November 11th, Patricia, a former student from 1963 to 1965, returned to campus for the first time in 60 years. Her visit coincided with the annual Remembrance Day celebration, where she joined our French families at the Foreign Cemetery in Yamate.

That same day, the Class of ’72 gathered to relive their Saint Maur experiences. As the first class to graduate from the then-new main building, they saw how much had changed, from their auditorium (now a library) to new facilities that enrich our community today. Their reunion included a memorable dinner at the Grand Hotel in Yokohama and a sightseeing tour of Tokyo.

November 17th marked the successful return of our annual Christmas Bazaar, bringing together the entire Saint Maur community for a day of celebration. We were especially thrilled to welcome back several alumni, including two former students from the 2009-2011 cohort. They visited with their parents, who have been deeply involved in the Saint Maur community over the years, including the mother’s past role as PSG Chair. Their visit made the day even more meaningful, reinforcing the lasting connections formed at Saint Maur.
