Successive Triumph as Hosts of KPASS Speech Contest, Celebrating Student Achievements and Unparalleled Community Support!
Saint Maur International School successfully hosted the annual KPASS Speech Contest for the second year in a row. Congratulations to all our students who participated and helped run this significant event, hosting 8 international schools!
Here are our highlights: - Every student who competed received an award, including 2 Bronzes, 7 Silvers, 6 Golds - Our Multiple Reading team, who were also selected for the encore performance at the end of the day, received an 'All-Star' Award - Saint Maur International School scored 3rd place with a total of 56 points, behind International School of Sacred Heart with 61 points and St. Mary's with 64 points.
The competition was tough, especially considering that the winning schools are between double and triple the size of our student body. Mr Gregoriades, Director of Fine Arts, who organised and ran this event, feels immensely proud of how smoothly the day ran and of our student and teacher helpers. He received several compliments on how helpful and polite the Saint Maur students were. A special thank you goes out to one of our Grade 11 students whose organizational and hospitality skills are unparalleled for someone his age and he ensured that all of the other international school students and staff knew where to go. He also devised a new innovation - a help desk that he set up at the end of the high school corridor which operated as the nerve centre for all support and logistics. Honestly, we could not have hosted this half as successfully without him.
Speech contest is a major event with over 200 students in nine different categories.
Thank you to all our volunteer teachers and staff for their tremendous support in coaching. Together, as a community, we make wonderful events like these happen!
