What is Safeguarding and Child Protection?

Safeguarding is the name given to the policies, procedures and actions taken to promote children and young people’s well-being and protect them from intended or unintended harm. Child protection falls under the umbrella of Safeguarding and is the process followed to protect children and young people from harm. It includes procedures about how to report concerns and what actions to take in the case a disclosure or concern is reported.

Safe Recruitment

We at Saint Maur International School are committed to safe recruitment. As part of the process of recruitment to work at Saint Maur International school, we reserve the right and are committed to checking with any past employers regarding eligibility to work with children, young adults and/or vulnerable people. All successful candidates will have multiple reference checks and are screened for their eligibility to work with children from the country they hold a passport for and their previous country of residence.

Visitors on Campus

All visitors on campus are required to abide by the following rules:

Use the designated toilets (i.e. Adult/Visitor toilets or Visiting Team changing rooms and toilets)
Do not take photos or videos of students (unless employed by the school for this purpose)

Any adult on campus as a contracted member of staff, private lesson teacher or regular volunteer is required to complete a school provided, Child Protection Training course. All adults must sign the school’s Code of Conduct and be familiar with the School’s Child Protection & Community Safeguarding Handbook.
