The father of two of our distinguished past students will be awarded a very prestigious award by the Irish President on the 30th November. Mr. Hideki Mimura, the father of Melissa (RIP) and Eleanor has received this award for promoting Ireland here in Japan.  

Hideki has been a great supporter of the Irish Community, giving his time, hard work and energy, for which the Irish community wishes to express its thanks. He is a well-recognized figure around Motomachi where he was instrumental in starting and continuing the annual Saint Patrick’s Day Parade. The BBQ he hosts for the helpers at his farm later in the year turns a little bit of Japan into an Irish oasis of music, food and Irish liquid delights.  The Saint Maur Community congratulate Hideki as he travels with Eleanor and Mrs. Mimura to Dublin to meet the president at Áras Uachtaráin – the president’s residence in Dublin.
