The High School Cross Country team attended their final race of the season on Thursday. This was the last race for our Seniors, many of whom have been on the team since Grade 6. Although spectators could not attend due to COVID safety measures, the race was live-streamed (see below) for parents and the community to cheer our runners on.
For a number of years, Elementary School students have been able to enjoy the practice of Kendo, a Japanese martial art that focuses on swordsmanship. With its emphasis on proper manners, sportsmanship, safety awareness, as well as basic swings of the bamboo sword (shinai), Kendo has proved a wonderful way to help our younger students to grow and develop as global and moral citizens.

Those videos have been overwhelmingly positively received, all of them achieving numbers of views that go well beyond the tens of thousands, and they are by far the most popular videos on our school’s Youtube channel.

The IGCSE (International General Certificate of Secondary Education) examinations for the tenth graders are held in two sessions every year: October/November and May/June. Last academic year, in spite of the disruptions caused by the COVID-19, all students at Saint Maur were able to complete all their IGCSE examinations. The results of which were released on 12th August 2021.
This summer, while most teachers and students were still enjoying their summer holiday, 28 incoming middle and high school students decided to spend the first two weeks of August honing their skills on the basketball court. From August 2nd through the 12th, the new Cougar Sports Center was filled with the sounds of squeaking shoes, pounding dribbles, swishes, and shouts of encouragement. The basketball atmosphere was palpable and many students grew tremendously in their ability to play the game.
One of the highest honors a Saint Maur musician can receive is to be selected for one of the KPASS Honor ensembles. Eight students proudly represented Saint Maur in the 2020-2021 Honor Band and Honor Choir.
